At the end of July, Claire went off to the Tate Modern to see the Van Gogh exhibition with her teenage son (who is studying Art GCSE).
We arrived early at the Tate Modern - a minor miracle, as being early isn't Claire's strongest point - only to find that the exhibition was at Tate Britain. Fortunately, it was a lovely sunny day for a trip down the Thames on the river bus to get to Tate Britain with minutes to spare.
Whilst the exhibition was undoubtedly padded out by a lot of work by other lesser known artists, sometimes with the loosest of connections to van Gogh, many of his masterpieces were there.
His work is so expressive and full of movement and energy. Here are our favourite pieces from the exhibition, but the most stunning, by far, was this version of Starry Night.
