3D scanning at the OXO Tower

In preparation for our involvement in the wonderful Foragers on the Foreshore project at this year’s Totally Thames Festival, Simon and Peter spent the day at the Oxo Tower on the Southbank scanning beautiful objects discovered by mudlarkers in the Thames.

Using two different techniques (photogrammetry and a 3D scanner) we experimented scanning objects from belt buckles to padlocks, coins to wooden pulleys.

After all that hard work, there was only one task left to do…
